"When I first laid eyes on this proud Andalusian stallion named Brancuso, I knew there was something special about him. Brancuso radiated an aura of majesty, like a king from an mythical, bygone era. I photographed this horse over the course of four years, hoping to capture an image that would do justice to his carriage and stature. This Andalusian was elusive, bordering on coy...he understood that we were trying to communicate in a unique fashion and trust had to be built up over time and physical closeness. Then one beautiful day, Brancuso made a pass at a relaxed gait and came right by, looking right at me, allowing me to see him more clearly then ever before. When I developed the image, I was blessed with an image of Brancuso in a classic equine profile, one that has been depicted in art throughout history, and which is so rare to capture photographically."
